How to buy Amazon (AMZN) from Liberia

What the company is, what it would cost, and what to understand before you put money in.

Educational guide only — not a recommendation to buy AMZN. Token Africa is pre-launch and not yet licensed by the Central Bank of Liberia.

What is Amazon?

Amazon runs the world's largest online store and Amazon Web Services, the cloud platform behind a large share of the internet.

Amazon is a household name and its cloud arm is one of the most profitable businesses in technology.

What it would cost

Planned minimum

$1

Indicative commission

2%

A $50 order

How the process would work

  1. 1

    Join the waitlist

Accounts are not open yet. Joining the waitlist puts you in line for an invitation when Token Africa launches.

  2. 2

    Verify your identity

At launch you would confirm who you are with a government ID and a few basic details — a legal requirement for any investment account.

  3. 3

    Add money in Liberian dollars

Planned funding through mobile money or bank transfer. Your Liberian dollars are converted to US dollars at a published rate shown before you confirm.

  4. 4

Choose an amount, not a number of shares

You enter what you want to invest — from $1 — and receive a fractional share of that value instead of a whole share.

  5. 5

    Review the cost, then confirm

The indicative 2% commission and the converted dollar amount are shown before you place the order.

  6. 6

Track it and add over time

Your holding, its value and any dividends appear in your portfolio. Most people add small amounts regularly rather than all at once.

Before you decide

  • Retail margins are thin; much of the profit comes from cloud and advertising.
  • Amazon has historically reinvested heavily rather than paying large dividends.
  • Results can move sharply on quarterly cloud growth figures.

Risk: Earnings surprises in either direction can move the share price a lot in one day. Values can fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you put in. Currency movements between Liberian and US dollars add a second source of change. Past performance tells you nothing about the future.
